These are the weeks of my life before I travel halfway around the world and start my year of not knowing what in the world is going on. So, here I go!
Friday, July 26th
Today, I started my Weebly. It's the week before I am done with being an aide for KOC at Schoolcraft. In the web design class that I help in, I learned about Weebly and ta-da! What a good idea for friends and family to keep track of me during my trip to China! I just looked earlier and realized that it's been about 3 weeks since I even heard about this program that I'm going on. Holy cow, this moved fast. I have hot and cold moments of being excited, nervous, terrified, can't wait to go, and everything in between. I'm savoring these last few weeks and want to make sure I make the most of them. LIterally, taking it one day at a time. Oh, and I decided that I'm leaving on August 18th....enough time to enjoy everybody for the last time! Well, Im in class right now so I guess I should pay attention at the moment.
Monday, July 29th
Hello! Today I learned a little bit more about what I will actually be teaching during the school day at Northeast Yucai. My supervisor asked the Chinese coordinator what my job description will be and he answered very thoroughly. I am going to be teaching a first grade immersion classroom, which is new this year. I am going to have the kids for about a total of 6 hours per day and teaching a variety of subjects. I will stay with the kids after school to do some activities and eat dinner with them, leaving for the day around 6:20. The school sounds very flexible with what I'll be doing since it is a new program and we are all just sort of feeling this out. I am very excited to go now that I know a little bit more about what I'll be doing! Only 3 weeks left until I go!!
