It's been quite some time since I've been on here! I had a very nice winter holiday! I did a lot of things but I'll just put up the pictures so you can see for yourself...a month is too long to write about! I loved every second of being home and wish I was there now! I am definitely homesick at the moment! I flew back to Beijing on Thursday and then came back to Shenyang last night (Sunday). I had a nice relaxing night watching movies and went to sleep pretty early. I work up around 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep...and then came Monday morning. I went to my classroom after breakfast and the first thing I notice is that all of my furniture is in the hallway. Okay. So they did paint the classroom like we had talked about once or twice. You would think that they would take everything out that they could and then cover the rest up, right? Not a chance. I walked in and to my horror, there was paint all over the entire floor, paint specks all over my desk and the things on it, my new speakers and printer full of paint specks, everything ripped off the walls and thrown on the floor/in the garbage, and painting supplies left all over.
I was in SHOCK! I couldn't believe my eyes. I went and got Hannah from her office to show her what happened. She seemed mildly upset. Once I realized that they had torn down all my decorations and trampled them and thrown them away, I was distraught. I couldn't believe that they would do all of this without even asking me first! I put SOOO much time and energy into everything! I called Lynne (who I now know left the company so that was wasted minutes) and she was too busy to talk. Hannah went and talked to Mr. Zhou (the vice principal) and he sent some of the male teachers to come up to help us clean but I said NO WAY!! The workers left the room trashed like this and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that I am going to be stuck cleaning this all up! What they did was so disrespectful to me and my classroom and my students! I told Hannah to tell Mr. Zhou that I left the classroom clean and neat and I expect to come back to a clean and neat room so there me and the other teachers are not responsible for cleaning this up. Long story long, there are supposed to be workers cleaning up the classroom. I am in my personal room now since being in that mess just upsets me too much. I talked to Kuo and she said that they will be cleaning it and that there will be something done to make up for this. Great way to start the new semester! I just hope they get everything cleaned up within a day or two, otherwise, I will be even angrier than I am now, which I don't even know if that's possible.
So, that is my rant for the day. I had a pretty awful morning and have just spent the rest of the day figuring out new ideas to do in the classroom, trying to keep my mind off my anger. Thank Mom and Dad and Terry for listening to me rant and rave. Let's just hope the week gets better cause I'm down in the gutter right now! Oh yeah, and my weekend in Beijing was fun. I spent it with Rose and Harlan. The only major thing we did was go to the Beijing Zoo market where I got some necessary items and also some unnecessary items. Caught up on some sleep and the jetlag hasn't been too awful so it was overall a good time. Well....enjoy my pictures!
